KUROMOJI

Japanese Spicebush

Lindera umbellata
Made in Japan

Kuromoji (Lindera umbellata) is a deciduous shrub native to Japan, belonging to the laurel family.
Its name, Kuromoji—literally meaning “black letters”—comes from the small dark markings on its branches, which resemble written characters.

Native Japanese kuromoji is highly valued for its distinctive and refined aroma and is often referred to as
“Japan’s native aromatic,” “Japanese Earl Grey,” or “Wa-style Earl Grey.”
Its fragrance is characterized by a fresh, elegant citrus-floral note, sharing aromatic components found in bergamot and rosewood.

Kuromoji is naturally rich in linalool, a key aromatic compound also present in lily of the valley, lavender, and jasmine.
This gives the tea a beautifully balanced scent—soft, uplifting, and deeply soothing.

Enjoy Kuromoji as a pure herbal tea, or use it as a refined aromatic accent in culinary creations and desserts.
Experience the serene, forest-like aroma of Japan in every cup.
