Assam CHARDWAR Tea Estate

Located in Assam, northeastern India, between the mighty Brahmaputra River and the Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its one-horned rhinoceroses, Chadwal Tea Estate is also known as the "Four Doors to Heaven" tea estate. "Char" means "four" and "Dwar" means "door," and the tea estate, surrounded by a beautiful, lush jungle and a natural environment teeming with wildlife and birds, lives up to its name with its four entrances. Abundant rainfall and a hot, humid climate create the perfect environment and fertile soil for Assam tea cultivation. Chadwal Tea Estate was originally owned by the royal family after being sold by the British to Maharaja Pradip Chandra Bhanj Deo, the king of Mayurbhanj State, in 1970. In 1985, Tea Promoter India, which uses organic and biodynamic farming methods, acquired the estate and took over management, undertaking extensive improvements to the soil, working conditions and infrastructure, and building a modern tea factory. Chadwal Tea Estate is Fairtrade certified, and is committed to the sustainable development of the estate and the welfare of the local community by producing premium-grade organic Assam tea.

■FTGFOP1 Tippy (Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe – Tippy)

The grade of Tippy tea refers to the quality of the tea. Tippy means that the tea leaves are of high grade and quality. The tip of the tea leaves refers to the hand-picked new leaves. The finest black teas contain only the new leaves at the tip of the tea leaf and the two young leaves below that. Tippy tea leaves mean that they contain a lot of new leaves with a fresh flavor.
